Hello fellow club operators and salespeople. I am excited to begin this blog, which will work hand in hand with my new resource website www.HealthClubSalesTraining.com.
My goal of this blog is to provide a forum for quality discussions about how to more successfully sell health club memberships. As a professional fitness salesperson you have a big responsibility; you are trying to get people to realize the benefits of beginning a regular exerise program. Unfortunately, with obesity levels in the US now topping 67% but health club participation at a mere 14%, there is a huge gap--no pun intended.
Every single time a person tours through your club it is your responsibility to professionally work with them, educate them and motivate them to want to begin exercising. NOT to buy a membership but rather get them first to make the decision to want to exercise. Then, and only then, once you have earned their trust and respect, can you show them how your club can help them begin that exercise program.
When you follow this philosophy--and focus on the guest and not your commission--you will begin reaping the benefits that come from helping people change their lives with exercise AND the financial rewards will naturally follow.
